Raypia Brings a Desktop X-Ray Inspection System for Police Forensics to KPEX 2026
Evidence does not always show what it holds. A sealed item, a device or a piece of material can contain a structure or a foreign object that the naked eye and ordinary equipment cannot judge.
Raypia Co., Ltd., a company in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, makes industrial X-ray inspection equipment for that kind of look inside. Led by CEO Jeongmi Cho, the company will take part in Korea Police World Expo 2026 (KPEX 2026), where it will present Vegaray Pro, its model for forensic and precision examination.
Raypia says it develops and supplies its own Vegaray product line. The flagship Vegaray is used for injection-molding defect detection, foreign-object inspection and non-destructive testing (NDT), and Vegaray Pro is built for semiconductor inspection and precision forensic examination. The company points to two strengths: an exceptionally compact body measuring 320 by 370 by 500 millimeters, small enough to sit on a desk, and fast imaging that needs no warm-up time, which it says makes the equipment widely used where speed matters.
According to Raypia, Vegaray Pro uses non-destructive X-ray imaging to see through evidence of various kinds and show internal structures and foreign objects that are hard to assess by eye or with conventional equipment. The company says Vegaray equipment is currently used by the Korea National Police Agency's Digital Forensic Team and by the forensic science divisions of regional police agencies.
In Korea, Raypia says its equipment serves business customers such as Samsung and LG and a wide range of other companies that need X-ray inspection. In the business-to-government (B2G) market, it names the police, defense agencies, the National Institute of Fisheries Science, the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, the Korea Testing Laboratory and the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology.
The company has exported since 2022 and says it is building partnerships in Japan and Taiwan, with exports now reaching the United States, China, Vietnam and Indonesia. It says it has supplied equipment to the Greek police through a European Union aid program and to the Nepal police through a Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) official development assistance (ODA) project. At present, it exports mainly through overseas branches and local factories of Korean companies, and it lists partnerships in Japan, Taiwan (in discussion) and Vietnam among those it is building.
Raypia's goals at the exhibition are to introduce the product directly to officials from a range of government agencies, including the police, coast guard, defense and fire services, and to find new overseas partners. Its long-term aim is to reach any market that needs X-ray inspection equipment. The partners it wants are distributors or agents with direct access to local government agencies, and partners with experience in forensic and criminal-investigation procurement.
On the domestic side, the company says it is working to expand its B2G pipeline beyond the police to the coast guard, the military and other research institutions, while growing its partner agreements in Japan, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. The help it says would matter most is consulting on export certification and regulatory compliance for radiation devices, information on foreign government procurement, and support for taking part in overseas exhibitions.
